| [ DOROTHY GALE ] 18 to 24 years old, all ethnicities female to play younger. Strong singer, also moves well on stage. The protagonist of the story. A sweet, innocent young lady with a streak of boldness, outspoken and headstrong, who dearly loves her family, friends and dog, Toto. [ WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST ] 40 to 60 years old, all ethnicities male or female. The villain of the story, she is bent on grabbing Dorothy after she accidentally kills her sister and takes her shoes. A comedic villainess that we must love hate. She is hungry for power. Must be able interactive/improv with audience. Strong powerful presence as an actress. Singing not required. [ THE SCARECROW ] 30 to 60 years old, all ethnicities male. Doubles as Hunk. Strong singer, also moves well on stage. A clumsy character with physical comedy attributes and acrobatic skills. He joins Dorothy to get his Brain from the Wizard. [ THE COWARDLY LION ] 30 to 70 years old, all ethnicities male. Doubles as Zeke. Strong singer, also moves well on stage, cuddly actor with excellent comic timing, he is hilarious and best friend to the audience. He is frightened of everything in an extremely over-the-top way. By the end, he is able to find his confidence. [ TINMAN ] 30 to 70 years old, all ethnicities male. Doubles as Hickory. Strong dancer (robotic animation, popping, freestyle all bonus). Charming and thoughtful, a kind-hearted romantic. A very mechanical man who believes he doesn’t have a heart. Wide eyed and gentle. [ GLINDA THE GOOD WITCH ] 40 to 70 years old, all ethnicities female. Doubles as Aunt Em. Soprano. Warm and caring character, a mother figure who guides Dorothy through Oz. Graceful. [ THE WIZARD ] 40 to 70 years old, all ethnicities male. Doubles as Professor Marvel. Non-Singing Role. Older father figure with eccentricity. [ UNCLE HENRY ] 40 to 70 years old, all ethnicities male. Doubles as Emerald City Guard. Older father figure with big stage presence. [ CHORUS ] 20 to 30 years old, all ethnicities male or female. Plays multiple roles. Strong dancing and singing is a requirement. [MUNCHKINS ETC.] |
