Rock n’ Roll Comes to Old Town Tustin This Summer!

Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts (TACFA), in association with Theatrical Productions, Inc., will be presenting Hairspray, its13th annual Broadway in the Park on August 20-24, 2013 in Peppertree Park in Old Town Tustin.

In 1962 Baltimore, Maryland, teenager Tracy Turnblad’s dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight. She then launches a campaign to integrate the show. Come hear the songs that will be in your head for the entire summer:  “You Can’t Stop the Beat,” “Good Morning Baltimore,” and “I Can Hear the Bells.”

Hairspray is adapted from the1988 John Waters film and the book for the stage musical by Mark O’Donnell and Thomas Meehan, with lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman. ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Hairspray is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

Tickets will go on sale June 15th at various locations throughout the city of Tustin.  Reserved tables will be available on May 1st.   Information is available on the TACFA website.  Auditions for this show will take place in early summer.
